Oppi Fine Jewellery specialises in handmade, unique and one of a kind jewellery The name ‘Oppi’ is a homage to Oppi Untracht, the author of Jewelry Concepts and Technology, one of the best books ever written for metalsmiths and jewellers.
I make jewellery utlising different styles and techniques, generally in silver, but also some copper, brass and gold. Most of my work are one of a kind pieces, made for the love of the process and the challenge they inspire within me. I am inspired by so many things in life, books, music, nature, love, animals, people and my desire to create a memento, an amulet, a token of care and an object of beauty that can be worn, loved and treasured for a lifetime.
Jewellery has always held a special place in our lives; every culture around the world from the beginning of time has adorned their bodies for ritualistic purposes, to show love, honour, status, respect, faith; to celebrate and protect the wearer.
Wedding rings are a promise of our love and dedication, a special pair of earrings is gifted to a beloved relative or friend, a medallion of Archangel Michael to protect and watch over someone in a time of need. There are so many reasons we buy and make jewellery. I hope that I can create something that you or your loved ones will treasure and enjoy.
